Though primarily a Notable Violin maker Perry was known to have made at least 300 of these instruments, This is a modern version Made from Indian Rosewood back and sides and Cedar front unlike the original which was made from maple back and sides and spruce front, with Cedar front and a Mahogany 3 piece neck of nice woods and a long Scale length of 530 mm, similar to my William Gibson Cittern made in 1761, the original Perry is made from Sycamore back and sides and Spruce front, the sides were tapered from 63 at the neck down to 55 at the tailblock, much like the 16c instruments from Italy, so you could say this is a modern version to match the current trends in Instrument Building, Want an instrument like this? contact me at pauldoyleinstruments.com and we can design an instrument just for you, or Phone 00353 091566948,mobile 0892126744
